Armor, Armor and more Armor!! (need help with a little rumor) and may contain spoiler
Right, we all know about the massively expensive 15k armor that can be bought at Marhan's Grotto and Granite Citadel (thats right, a whooping 15k PER PIECE) but, tbh, its more of a statement to wear it rather than it actually contributing to any form of armor upgrade (u can buy the same flippin stuff at Draknor's Forge 10x cheaper, and still has the same atributes, i.e. 70strength plus all the bit depending of the type u forge)
But this is my main question...i've read here and there (and i'd rather not mention names cause if its a load of old cobblers i'd rather they didn't get blamed for it) that in the Temple of Ages dungeons (Underworld, Fissure of Woe) u can craft EVEN MORE EXPENSIVE ARMOR...i wanna know if this is true or not. I think it could be a loada sh*t but u never know...anyone know of this...if they do then wicked Also just to say that 'i read this elsewhere' and that i have no intention to start up any stupid rumors that could lead me into blame and shame...where everyone hates me for starting sumin which was only ment to be a query :P... So yeah if u know of this then post away!! TA :P Last edited by plum64_uk; Jun 09, 2005 at 05:04 PM // 17:04.. |

From what I understand, the armor in the underworld / fissure of woe is the same statwise as the other 15K / 1.5 armor. The thing that makes it more expensive is the need for special components, Ectoplasm and Obsidian Shards that are hard to come by. If you visit the underworld / fissure regularly, but have no intention of getting this armor. Sell the ectoplasm and shards you find, I'm sure someone would be willing to pay for them.

It's not a rumor and your not spoiling anything. The crafter in the Fissure is well known information. The armor is the same stats as any other max AL armor available in the game. As you said it's all about asthetics.
It does require rare crafting materials. In some cases, very rare. That was one of the reasons they updated the obsidian shard drops in the underworld. If you head over to the screenshots forum you can see an example of the materials required and the types of armor available. Regards... |

Temple of Ages - American has to have the favor from the gods from winning in the Hall of Heroes.
Underworld is accessed by joining a group and paying Grenth (at the statue of Grenth) 1 plat. Fissure is accessed by joining a group and paying Balthazaar (at the statue of Balthazaar) 1 plat. Groups of the Underworld and the Fissure are elite. Your best chance for success is to be an excellent player, be lvl 20, and have the highest AL on your character that's available. Otherwise you are completely wasting your time. |

Someone told me today that Fissure or UW armor has higher stats, and they claimed to have it.
I was pretty sure they were wrong and full of [hot air]. So - does the Fissure / UW armor have better stats or is it just vanity plates for your toon? |

The stats are the same ... its just dead sexy armor.
The cost is outrageous ... like 15K per piece plus 90 or so obsidian shards or ectoplasm which go for 4-8K per piece. So your looking at a rough cost of 500-600K (estimate) now tell me about status ... lol ... this stuff makes the 15K armor look like poppyRED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO. The armor crafter is in the Fissure of Woe ... but your crafting materials drop in the U/W (ectoplasm) & FoW (obsidian shards) |

Dunno, I'd probably get the fissure armor for female Necro, male/female warrior, and male ranger (haven't seen the female one yet). I'll pass on the monk, elementalist, and mesmer ^^

Necromancers and Monks do not require Obsidian Shards for their armour, therefore they're paying only 55% of what other professions would pay in net value for a full outfit (legs, head (not sure if there is a head actually, it seems that for some professions there is), feet, gloves, chest).
A full outfit of Eternal Armour (from the Eternal Forgemaster in the Fissure of Woes) is worth roughly 1400k (that's right; 1,400,000 gold). But you don't pay it in straight gold. You need Obsidian Shards; Globs of Ectoplasm; Tanned Hides; Furs/Silk/Cloth/Shells/Bones/Wood; and 15,000 gold for each piece. So start saving, 90k pure gold is required (maybe 105k if there is a head for your profession). Any other information (like how it looks) can be found around the forum, just search Eternal armour of Fissure armour using the forum search. Rest assured, though, the monk armour looks the best!!! |
